Microsoft AI certifications: check the current pathway carefully
Microsoft changed its AI fundamentals path in 2026. The old AI-900 exam was retired June 30, 2026. Microsoft's current AI-901 exam is aimed at candidates at the beginning of AI solution development and expects conceptual AI knowledge plus foundational technical skills, including Python syntax and familiarity with Azure resources.

For people who need cloud fundamentals first, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals remains a beginner credential covering cloud concepts, Azure services, security and governance. Microsoft listed the AZ-900 exam at US$99 in September 2026, subject to region.

IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP)

ISACA Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA)
ISACA's AAIA is a specialized advanced credential, not a beginner AI certificate. ISACA says it is designed for IT auditors and advisors and requires candidates to hold CISA or another qualifying designation with an IT audit/advisory focus.
